Exam Information
The exam is given by IMA in four parts and most examinees complete all four parts within 18 months. Parts 1-2 are administered using on-demand computer-based testing at Prometric sites. Part 4 is offered in February, May, August and November.
Exam Eligibility:
- Membership in IMA
- Educational Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in any discipline, holding a CPA, or 50% or higher on the GMAT or GRE.
- Two years of professional experience in management accounting completed any time prior to or within seven (7) years of passing the exam.
Testing Schedule:
Exams administered on-demand using Prometric sites
Candidates must pass all four parts in a consecutive 4 year period
Parts 1-3 must be passed before sitting for Part 4
Parts 1-3 are tested in an objective format while Part 4 is tested via essays and problems
Individuals holding a CPA or CFA designation are exempt from Part 1
