The goal of this class is to get an overview of the ESOL (ESL or EFL) profession. This includes examining the various avenues for working in ESOL. Since an important part of a career is professional development, we will look at ways to develop our instructional skills and become familiar with useful ESOL materials and resources. You will explore teaching portfolios and start to map your own ESOL career plan. Half hour lunch break, please bring a bag lunch. Edith Cowper is an ESL Coordinator at Wake Technical Community College and has taught ESL to adults for over 10 years. She received her graduate degree from the School for International Training and has lived and worked abroad.
