Prerequisite: ESL Teaching Methods (or taken simultaenously with Four Skills). At the heart of the English language are four essential skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This class explores the foundations and practice of helping ESL students grow in their mastery of these skills. In addition to gaining a solid theoretical understanding of how students learn, you will also develop practical, ready-to-use lesson plans. The lab practical segment of this class will help you develop new ideas that really work. You'll have a chance to share and refine the ideas and techniques you are using in your current teaching setting. Students will be expected to complete 10 hours of practice teaching while taking this class.
