Requirements

Completion Criteria and Awarding of Certificate:

Students will be evaluated by a number of different criteria, including participation, examination, and assignment completion. Successful completion of the program will be based on the instructor’s decision that student has met all criteria and learner objectives.

Upon successful completion of the program, each student will be awarded a certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting from the Duke University Office of Continuing Studies.*

*The certificate is noncredit and does not apply toward a degree.

Successful Completion of this Continuing Nursing Education Activity:

In order to receive full contact hour credit for this CNE activity, you must:

  • Be registered for this activity
  • Be present no later than five (5) minutes after starting time
  • Remain until the scheduled ending time
  • Complete and submit the evaluation form and the verification of attendance form to the instructor before you leave

Requirements for successful completion may also include participation in individual or group activities, such as discussion, exercises, practice questions, pre-/post-testing, etc.

Please note: Students will only be awarded CNE contact hours for the total number of classroom hours for which they are in attendance.

Attendance Policy:

Students must attend 80% of the classes in order to be awarded the LNC certificate. This means that students may only miss two of the twelve scheduled classes in order have successfully completed the Duke LNC Program.
