Paralegal Studies - Summer Intensive

Payment Options

A two-part payment plan is available.

• Due at Registration: $1800
• Remainder of tuition due by the first day of class: $3595

Please note: If full payment is not received by the first day of class, student will not be permitted to attend the program.

Loans:

• Some students choose to use a continuing education loan to finance the cost of the program including tuition, books, and equipment. Duke Continuing Studies does not endorse any lending program as the best source. Loans are approved at variable rates based on your credit history. Interest rates and fees vary by lender and, unlike federal loans, interest rates are not capped. If you wish to apply for a loan, please see the instructions provided for Sallie Mae or feel free to use one of the many other continuing education student loans that can be found online.

• The Duke Paralegal Certificate Program is non-credit and therefore NOT eligible for federal education loans. Please do not submit FAFSA forms for this program.

• Your local bank may offer other options for loans or a "line of credit" service. Contact your bank for more information on financing choices.

Other Funding:

Montgomery G.I. Bill
Educational assistance is available to those persons who qualify under the conditions set forth by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Students may contact 1-888-GI-BILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) to speak with a Veterans Benefits Counselor or visit: http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/benefits.htm.  

The classroom-based Paralegal Certificate Programs in both Durham and Charlotte have been approved for VA funding by the North Carolina State Approving Agency.  Those students who qualify for funding through the VA should apply for the paralegal program and let the registration office know that this type of funding is being sought. The registration office will then put students in contact with Duke University’s VA official, Jean Ross at (919) 684-9030 or jean.ross@duke.edu, to assist in this process.

The Workforce Investment Act  (WIA Funding)
The WIA provides intensive training services to those who have been unable to find employment. Customers are linked to job opportunities in their communities, including both occupational training and training in basic skills. Participants use an "individual training account" to select an appropriate training program from a qualified training provider.

The Duke Paralegal Program is an approved training provider in many counties across North Carolina. For more information on eligibility, the application process, or to find your local Workforce Development Board, visit the NC JobLink Career Center website.

AmeriCorps
