Duke Action Science Camp for Young Women promotes scientific discovery through field and laboratory experiences. The camp is designed to expand the scope and depth of each camper’s science inquiry and reasoning skills. Duke Action is built on a tightly themed and integrated set of lab and field mini-courses and learning experiences with professional scientists from varied disciplines. Duke Action campers broaden their skill base and confidence through activity-centered learning, constructing and sharing the processing of their reasoning. Duke Action campers keep a daily journal and lab notebook as they are encouraged to reflect on their personal experiences about scientific issues and camp activities.
