1785 - Liberty, Equality, Fraternity: Words that Changed History
Explore 19th century European history from the French Revolution to the period just before the Russian Revolution. This course will follow movements that determined many of the 20th century developments still reverberating today. Concentrating on France and Russia, historical and fictional characters will be presented. In addition to historical records, art, music, poetry and literature will reflect how liberty, equality and fraternity changed the lives of millions and shaped the modern world.
