2138 - Petals and Pigments: Printing with Botanicals
Create floral inks. Print a small hand bouquet tied with a ribbon using the Hapazome technique. Create fabric and paper surface designs with natural plant dye, including indigo. Bundle some petals and explore the process of eco-printing on fabric. Expect to engage in a hands-on learning experience with these processes for to create art that you will want to take home. You will gain knowledge to enable you to continue your journey with Petals and Pigments after the term is over. Feel free to bring a few or your own pre-washed 100% cotton, hemp, or silk clothing items or yarns to use as a canvas. Special registration required: This course is a collaboration of the Durham Arts Council and OLLI at Duke. Registration for this course opens November 4. You cannot register for this workshop through the OLLI registration website or office. Seating is extremely limited.
