Just about everyone today has some form of digital camera, from smartphones to simple point-and-shoot cameras to complex Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras. The learning curve for good photography can be significantly shortened due to the instant feedback provided by these cameras. With older film cameras, it would be days or even weeks before you got the results back from the photo lab and it was difficult to remember the settings and conditions related to your pictures. This class is intended to be inspirational, instructional, and most of all fun, helping you get the best pictures from whatever digital camera you currently own. Camera controls, creativity, composition, lighting, exposure, basic editing, and even what to look for when you are ready to upgrade your camera will all be discussed. You'll have the opportunity to practice what you've learned in at least one field trip and share your favorite images with the class.
