Nia is a cardio-dance workout, a movement practice, and a lifestyle based on the intelligent design of the body. Each Nia workout brings mindfulness to your movement, leaving you energized, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. Nia workouts combine 52 simple moves with dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts to get you fit in 60 minutes. Nia is typically practiced barefoot, although shoes are allowed. Every class is non-impact and is adaptable to individual needs, fitness, and abilities. Using eclectic world music and a combination of choreography and free dance, we explore sensation and pleasure in the body through flexibility, agility, mobility, strength and stability. It is especially good for those who want to improve their balance and mental agility. Each class is different so new and returning dancers are welcome.
