OLLI In-Person Guidelines

Welcome back! There are changes happening so please be sure to read this section carefully for all updates. (updated: 7/6/22)

COVID Policy

As we continue the process of responding to COVID-19 challenges, we appreciate your continued support and cooperation. The guidelines set forth below have been developed with the health and safety of our membership in mind and in concert with Duke and Judea Reform Congregation (JRC) requirements. These guidelines are subject to change as COVID-19 conditions evolve, and additional guidelines may be imposed by Duke and/or the JRC for the health and safety of OLLI participants should COVID-19 conditions change.

Vaccines: JRC requires members and instructors to be vaccinated before attending in-person courses. You will not be required to show proof of vaccination. We are relying on the respect and good faith of our members to comply.

Masks and face coverings:  Masks are required indoors. All members, instructors and staff are required to wear a mask at all times in OLLI courses held at JRC. Masks must cover both the mouth and nose.

Physical distancing: Class sizes and seating arrangements have been reduced/arranged to comply.

Stay home if feeling sick: Members should not attend classes if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss/change in taste or smell, or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 5 days.

No food or drink: Food and drink are prohibited in the building. OLLI will not provide coffee at JRC for the foreseeable future. Bottled water will be provided for instructors. Members may bring their own water bottle. The water fountain will not be available.

Other Important Information

Name badge: Name badges are required at all OLLI in-person events and classes and must be worn at all times while in the building. Name badges will be provided by OLLI staff on the day of your first class.

Parking: Please park in the lot in front of the JRC educational building. Parking passes are required on the dashboard of cars parked at JRC. Passes are available the first day of your class. Please arrive with enough time to place one in your car before your class begins. Because of the reduction in class size, we do not expect parking issues. Do not park in the lot for the Levin Jewish Community Center. You will be subject to towing.
