From Gel to Sell: Research, Ethics, and Business of Biomaterials

Have you ever questioned if superhero-like regeneration could happen? How do scientists and engineers create materials that mimic the properties of the human body? Could it be possible to grow an organ in a laboratory? Gain hands-on experience with techniques used by tissue engineers in regenerative medicine to recreate biocompatible materials.

Learn the chemistry of how to make biomaterials. Compare the physical and biological properties of a material with the natural architecture of the human body, and assess the potential influence on the medical field that these technologies could produce. Regenerative medicine guest speakers will help us explore the business and industry, the ethical considerations that affect clinical use, and the cutting-edge research being conducted to make science fiction a reality.

Join current researchers as we explore the science and business of regenerative medicine, and leave your impact on this extraordinary field.
