Course Description

During this course, participants will take a virtual trip to the Orlando Museum of Art to see some highlights from their book collection; have guided learning experiences to explore a variety of bookmaking and bookbinding skills for all levels; and enjoy other fun experiences including the history and paste paper techniques of Paulus Berensohn of Penland, Black Mountain College book and zine makers, and more. Topics will include materials selection, art papers and memorabilia, storytelling, zines, picture books, collage and printmaking, themes, binding techniques, resources, and inspiration. You will learn to develop your own skills and, in the process, a little about the world of bookmaking. | Active participation; Facilitated discussion.
