Summer’s a good time to just relax! It’s also a good time to brush up on the skills you’ll need to do well on the SAT--- test-taking techniques; time-management skills; logical reasoning; verbal ability; and mathematical competence.
Now that you have some “free” time, why not enroll in a camp that is designed to equip you with the skills that are critical for the best performance on the test?
Review segments include:
This section involves writing a 25-minute essay in which the student develops a point-of-view on an issue. There are also multiple-choice questions including Error Identification, Improving Sentences and Paragraph Problems. The review covers essay-writing strategies and a grammar review.
In the critical reading segment, students focus on how to quickly and critically evaluate the structure and details of text to select the correct answers.
This segment tests the student's ability to choose the omitted words that best fit and form a complete, meaningful sentence. Students will be taught how to use contextual and structural clues to quickly select correct answers.
Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry
The SAT quantitative sections are designed to measure basic math skills, understanding of math concepts, and ability to reason and solve problems. The review includes practice with typical arithmetic, algebra, geometry and word problems.
Grid-ins are mathematics formats to further test mathematical and reasoning ability. Grid-ins require students to independently compute answers and mark them in a grid format. Further practice and review of mathematical applications will enhance performance in this area.
Texts are handed out at the first session of each course. All materials are included in course fees.
