Event: The OLLI at Duke Wine Society presents A New World Wine Celebration

When: Friday, November 15 5:30-8:30 PM

Where: John Sprunt Hill House, 900 South Duke St. Durham, NC

Cost: $25 per person - Sorry no refunds unless we fill your spot from our wait list

How to Register: Beginning October 14; Online with your student ID or by calling the Registration Office at 919-684-6259; class ID 1764.018 - Registration to remain open until class is filled. We will develop a wait list and we often have last minute cancellations so, if the class is filled, please add your name to the wait list. Class limit 48.

Mike Smith has selected 5 current new world wines paired with food for your enjoyment. Wine Society events offer sufficient food pairings for the wines selected (some participants describe as heavy appetizers while others consider this to be a full meal). Mike will provide background on each wine selected and provide evaluation tools for each participants use. Mike will also present the different approaches that winemakers and vintners are taking now as a result of climate change as well as adaptions that will likely occur in the future. The entire process from the field manager to the winemakers choices and decisions to storage and vinification to the end product is now modified. Our moment in time for this discussion is because we are at the edge of an evolution in wine which will continue far into the future.
