Course Description

Learn to transform a ball of yarn into a warm winter hat in this six-week hands-on course. The course is designed for the beginner to learn how to cast on, knit, purl, decrease, and bind off stitches, or as a refresher for those who haven't knitted recently. No prior experience is required. • Active participation.

Please note: Students should bring yarn and needles to the first class.

Required supplies/fee: Students will purchase materials independently for an estimated cost of $30. 

Students will need:

1 skein bulky weight yarn - e.g., Malabrigo Rasta, Cascade Magnum, or Lion Brand Thick & Quick;

16" Circular US Size 11 Needles;

Set of US Size 11 Double Pointed Needles;

1 Stitch Marker or a scrap of contrasting yarn;

1 Tapestry Needle.

All materials are available at Freeman's Creative or Hillsborough Yarn Shop, where curbside pick up is an option. The supplies are also available at many big box stores.
