2175 - Honoring Your Life Stories: A Writing Nonfiction Workshop
Each life contains millions of stories. Have you tried writing yours? With the help of prompts we will reflect, explore, learn from each other and create. Come prepared to craft personal narratives from your own life stories; from the everyday to the extraordinary. We will cover such topics as: situation versus story, battling writing perfectionism, voice, revision, etc. Whether you are writing for personal introspection or to create keepsakes for loved ones, a supportive and rigorous setting will ensure feedback from the instructor and peers. Additional prompts and reading assignments will be provided by the instructor. It is my hope that this class will enable you to feel more connected to your own life and the lives of those around you. Open to writers of all genres and levels of experience. Lecture (plus questions). Facilitated Discussion. Hands-On Art. Hands-On Computer Use. Listening to Music or Other Audio. Writing. Required materials: composition book and/or laptop / iPad (depending on preference), writing utensil.
