Course Description

This fundamental course covers the essentials of financial reporting and analysis for individuals who lack an extensive background in financial management. This course is ideal for board and staff members who would like a better understanding of the financials to make better management decisions. Participants will learn how to:

  • Read and understand the three major nonprofit financial statements including the Statement of Financial Position, the Statement of Activities and the Cashflow Statement
  • Allocate resources to better manage the nonprofit organization
  • Create and maintain a budget
  • Determine and manage appropriate reserves
