Not all holes, or games, are created equal.” (George Will) The beautiful game of baseball has been part of American culture since the early 19th century. This course, divided into two 5 week parts, explores baseball's rich past, explores its many colorful characters and celebrities, and the traces the evolution of the game from its genesis to to the present day, through storytelling, music, film, books, and media. The first 5 week segment, covers the genesis of the game and details many of the early characters and celebrities. The second 5 week segment, covers the evolution of the game, from the breaking of the major league color barrier to the present day. Who's on first? Join me and find out!
