2580 - Composers Who Changed the Course of Musical Development
Composers use many different devices experimentally in search of their unique creative voice. This course will look at the lives and contributions of six of those who have made significant and lasting contributions to the development of the art of music. They are Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643), Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart (1756-1791), Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), Richard Wagner (1813-1883) and a mystery composer to be introduced at the last session.
