2727 - Development of American Politics -- 1776-1787
This course will take a look at how the 13 colonies began to develop an "American politics" after the Declaration of Independence in 1776, through their relationship with England during the American Revolution and into the creation of an American government, first with the Articles of Confederation and then with the writing of the US Constitution. This course will review the ideas established during colonial development (1607-1776) and examine the ideas of government established in the colonies throughout the period of colonial rule and after the American Revolution.
