2764 - Physiology and Anatomy of Birds: Are Birds Really Living Dinosaurs?
In this course we will discuss the origin of birds from prehistoric dinosaurs. We will examine the physiological systems of domestic (poultry) and wild bird and compare them to reptiles and mammals. Specifics systems will include reproduction, embryo physiology (control of calcium), respiratory (how the respiratory system aids flight), skeletal, gastro-intestinal physiology, circadian rhythms and the pineal gland, and the avian immune system.
