Course Description

"They just don't get it " is a sentiment often echoed by younger generations when describing their parents or older relatives. Conversely, older generations are apt to say this younger generation is too impatient and too technology driven, and they don't know how to communicate effectively. Generation gaps have existed forever and are not about to change soon. However, through a better understanding of how significant events, people, technologies, peer groups, music, etc. helped shape each generation during their formative years, we can better appreciate their values, attitudes, work ethic, career aspirations, and, most importantly, how they view other generations. Thus, the focus of this course is to help narrow generational gaps through a highly interactive, thought-provoking, and often humorous look at the five living generations: veterans, baby boomers, Gen Xers, millennials, and, yes, even the newest generation—Gen Zers  (under twenty-two years old).     Lecture (plus Questions) Facilitated Discussion Active ParticipationViewing Videos
