Are you tired of paying (too much!) for cable TV, but confused by the multitude of streaming services to choose from? This course guides students through the maze of technology and content available to create a plan to switch from cable TV to alternate sources, or revise their current streaming strategy. Learn the basics of over-the-air broadcasts, streaming devices (Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV), and streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and several added in recent months). We'll cover details on connecting and using devices and services, and explore online resources to find content and choose services. The course is updated and expanded to cover streaming content in more depth, including recommendations by critics and viewers. Students will be encouraged to log their TV viewing and start a wish list of shows to watch, both of which help in making choices that best suit individual needs and budgets. | Lecture + Q&A.
