The OLLI Member Directory is your place to get to know fellow members beyond the classroom.
Hosted on BrightCrowd, this private online directory helps current OLLI at Duke members connect through shared interests, experiences, and lifelong curiosity. Browse member pages, discover common interests, put faces to names, and learn more about the people who make OLLI at Duke such a vibrant community.
Creating your page is quick and easy. Share as much or as little as you'd like. Many members choose to include a photo, a bit about their background, hobbies, travel experiences, volunteer work, favorite OLLI experiences, or the topics they're most interested in exploring. You can update your page at any time.
Access the Directory
The OLLI Member Directory is available only to current OLLI at Duke members. Within a week after you join or renew your membership, an invitation to participate in the directory will be sent to the email address associated with your OLLI membership.
The first time you visit, you'll be asked to verify your identity before creating your page.
Before you begin
· You do not need to complete your entire profile the first time you log in.
· You can return anytime to edit your profile, add information, or upload a new photo.
· Share only the information you're comfortable sharing.
Creating your profile
As you move through the profile:
· Use Next at the bottom of each page to continue.
· Use the Back arrow at the top of the page to return to an earlier question.
· Feel free to skip questions and come back to them later.
Adding a photo
We encourage you to upload a photo. Seeing familiar faces helps members recognize one another in classes, events, and social gatherings.
For the best results:
· Choose a clear photo of yourself.
· Photos with a little extra space around your face crop best.
· Avoid photos where your face fills the entire frame.
After you create your profile
Shortly after creating your page, BrightCrowd will send a confirmation email with links to both your personal profile and the OLLI Member Directory.
If you don't see the email:
· Search for contact@duke.brightcrowd.com
· Check your Promotions tab (Gmail users)
· Check your Spam or Junk folder
Who can access the directory?
The directory is private and available only to current OLLI at Duke members. It is not searchable on the internet or accessible to the public.
Do I have to create a profile?
No. Participation is completely optional. We hope you'll join because every profile makes it easier for members to connect, but whether and how you participate is entirely your choice.
How much information should I share?
That's entirely up to you. Share as much or as little as you'd like, and update your profile whenever you wish.
Can I edit my profile later?
Yes. You can return to the directory at any time to update your photo, biography, interests, or other information.
How do I find other members?
Browse the directory or search by name, interests, hobbies, professional background, volunteer activities, and other information members have chosen to share.
