OLLI at Duke
Welcome! If you are currently registered or planning on registering for an In-Person Course with OLLI at Duke, please review the following details. Changes are happening, so please read this section carefully for all updates. (Updated: 3/1/24)
Most in-person courses will take place at the Judea Reform Congregation Education Building (JRC) (left of Judea Reform Congregation building), 1933 West Cornwallis Road, Durham, NC 27707. There is a map of the JRC campus at the bottom of this page. If your class is listed at a different location, please check the course page for the address.
* The AC works very well in the education building. If you are cold-natured please bring an extra layer with you. OLLI staff cannot adjust the thermostat.
Name badge: Name badges are required at all OLLI in-person events and classes. OLLI staff will provide name badges on the day of your first class at JRC. For the safety of our members and staff, you are required to wear your most current name badge at all times while attending all OLLI in-person classes and events.
Wearing your OLLI name badge helps everyone feel welcome.

Parking passes: Please park in the lot in front of the JRC education building. Parking passes are required on the dashboard of cars. Passes are available on the first day of your class. Parking at the nearby JCC is prohibited and subject to towing.
Food & Drinks: Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa will be available for members. We encourage you to bring a water bottle. Food is not allowed in classrooms.
Class Check-In Protocol: Please plan to arrive at JRC 15-20 minutes before your first class begins to allow sufficient time to pick up your name badge and parking pass.
Course Websites: If your Instructor developed a course website, the link will be available in the student portal. Click here to log in. (We recommend bookmarking this page.)
Inclement Weather: OLLI at Duke follows the lead of Durham Public Schools (DPS) regarding the Severe Weather Schedule
- If DPS closes, all OLLI in-person classes and activities are canceled.
- If DPS delays opening, OLLI in-person classes and activities before 10:00 a.m. are canceled.
- If DPS closes early, all OLLI in-person classes and activities at 3:00 p.m. or later are canceled.
- If DPS is remote learning, all OLLI in-person classes are canceled.
Please check your email before you leave your home for class. There may be instances where OLLI classes are in session, and a particular instructor cannot travel due to weather conditions. In those cases, OLLI members can expect to receive an email from their Instructor and/or the OLLI office notifying them of the cancellation.
Regardless of the weather or road conditions, every OLLI member and instructor needs to make their own decision about whether it is safe to travel. Please use good judgment before leaving your residence.

COVID Policy
We appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we continue responding to COVID-19 challenges. In addition to this policy, returnto.duke.edu provides guidance for health and safety, in campus, community, and academic scenarios.
Vaccines: JRC requires members and instructors to be vaccinated before attending in-person courses. Proof of vaccine is not required. You will not be asked to show proof of vaccination. We are relying on the respect and good faith of our members to comply.
Masks and face coverings: Masks are encouraged but not required.
Stay home if feeling sick: Members should not attend classes if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss/change in taste or smell, or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 5 days.
