In-Person Guidelines

Welcome back! There are changes happening so please be sure to read this section carefully for all updates. (updated: 1/18/23)

COVID Policy

As we continue the process of responding to COVID-19 challenges, we appreciate your continued support and cooperation. In addition to this policy, returnto.duke.edu provides students who return to the Duke Campus guidance for health & safety, campus, community and academic scenarios.

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classified Durham in the high-risk category again last week, there are signs that COVID cases are declining at Duke and in the community. As a result, masking in classrooms and other indoor gatherings is strongly recommended but will not be required at this time.

Vaccines: JRC requires members and instructors to be vaccinated before attending in-person courses. You will not be required to show proof of vaccination. We are relying on the respect and good faith of our members to comply.

Masks and face coverings: Masks are strongly encouraged. Not required.

Stay home if feeling sick: Members should not attend classes if they have a fever, cough, cold, shortness of breath, new loss/change in taste or smell, or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 5 days.

Other Important Information

Name badge: Name badges are required at all OLLI in-person events and classes and must be worn at all times while in the JRC classroom building. Name badges will be provided by OLLI staff on the day of your first class at JRC. Name badges will not be provided for courses that meet at other classroom locations

Parking: Please park in the lot in front of the JRC educational building. Parking passes are required on the dashboard of cars parked at JRC. Passes are available the first day of your class. Because of the reduction in class size, we do not expect parking issues. Do not park in the lot for the Levin Jewish Community Center. You will be subject to towing.
